AFU launch 6 airstrikes, destroy 4 Lancet 'kamikaze' drones per day – General Staff

On May 4, Ukrainian aviation launched 6 strikes on the Russian military positions. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 4 Lancet barrage munitions

In turn, missile and artillery units hit 5 enemy manpower concentration areas, 2 munitions depots and 1 electronic warfare station.

In Zaporizhzhia, Russians have set up a military hospital in a local school and are forcing the educational process to continue

It is noted that Russian troops continue to suffer heavy losses, and all medical facilities in the temporarily occupied territory are overcrowded with wounded Russian soldiers. 

“In the village of Myrne, Zaporizhzhia region, the occupying Russian forces are turning the local school gym into a military hospital. At the same time, the Russian troops are forcing the teaching staff to continue the educational process with compulsory attendance of children,” the report says.

Russia launched 33 MLRS attacks and 66 airstrikes

In addition, the Russian troops launched 6 missile attacks on the cities of Kramatorsk and Zaporizhzhia.

Occupying Russian forces are attacking in the Lyman, Bakhmut and Marinka directions, and about 50 enemy assaults have been repelled by the Ukrainian defenders. The fiercest fighting continues for Bakhmut and Marinka.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian Federation continued shelling the border areas: 5 settlements in the Chernihiv region, 11 more in the Sumy region, as well as 6 villages in the Kharkiv region were attacked. 

Russian attacks in other Ukrainian regions

  • In the Kupiansk direction, 8 settlements of the Kharkiv region came under artillery shelling. 

  • In the Lyman direction, 8 settlements of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions came under artillery and mortar fire. 

  • In the Bakhmut direction, fighting continues for the fortress city. 12 localities in the Donetsk region were attacked by the invading Russian forces. 

  • In the Avdiivka direction, 4 settlements in the Donetsk region were shelled. 

  • In the Marinka direction, 3 settlements of the Donetsk region came under shelling. 

  • In the Shakhtarsk direction, occupying Russian troops attacked 4 localities in the Donetsk region. 

  • In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, over 50 towns and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the invading Russian army. 

On the night of May 4, explosions occurred in Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, and Odesa. Ukrainian forces managed to shoot down 18 out of 24 Shahed-136/131. In Odesa, 3 drones attacked dormitories and a fire broke out. In Kyiv and the region, cars, road surfaces and non-residential buildings were damaged.

On the evening of May 4, several explosions occurred in the Ukrainian capital. During an air raid alert, an unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down, and a fire broke out in the Solomianskyi and Pecherskyi districts
