AFU hit 5 Russian artillery units, destroy 1 air defense facility – General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff  reported this. 

In addition, the Russian Federation launched 46 airstrikes and 69 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems on the Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, civilians were killed and wounded, and private houses and other civilian and administrative infrastructure damaged. The likelihood of missile and air strikes throughout Ukraine remains high.

Occupying Russian troops are attacking in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions. The enemy launched over 30 assaults in these areas over the last day. The fiercest fighting continues for the towns of Bakhmut and Marinka.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian Federation continued shelling the entire border line: one settlement in the Chernihiv region, 7 more in the Sumy region, as well as 13 towns and villages in the Kharkiv region were attacked. 

Shelling of Ukrainian regions

In the Kupiansk direction, 10 settlements in the Kharkiv and Luhansk directions came under artillery shelling. 

In the Lyman direction, 9 settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk directions came under Russian fire. 

In the Bakhmut direction, fierce fighting continues for the fortress city. 13 localities in the Donetsk region were attacked by the invading Russian forces. 

In the Avdiivka direction, 6 settlements of the Donetsk region were shelled. 

In the Marinka direction, 5 towns and villages in the Donetsk direction were attacked by the Russian army. 

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the occupying Russian forces attacked 6 settlements in the Donetsk region. 

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, 18 cities and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the Russian army. 

“Over the last day, the Defense Forces' aviation launched 13 strikes on the invading Russian troops' military positions. In addition, Ukrainian defenders destroyed 7 enemy UAVs of various types. Missile and artillery units hit 8 control points, 13 manpower concentration areas, 1 munitions depot, 1 fuel and lubricants depot, 5 artillery units at firing positions, 1 air defense facility, as well as 2 other important enemy targets,” the report says. 

• Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has lost 196,920 soldiers, 3,740 tanks, and 2,627 drones.
