AFU have success in Luhansk region but there are still too many Russian soldiers — Haidai

This was stated by the head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration Serhiy Haidai on the air of a TV marathon 

"From Svatove to Kreminna, the success is still on the side of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Our defenders are successful there, but the resistance is very heavy, there are a lot of all kinds of troops there, there are the Special Rapid Response Unit, some Army battle system, Kadyrovites somewhere in the background as barrier detachments, and Buryats, and freshly mobilized and convicts, who is not there," Haidai said.

The head of the region stressed that the liberation of the Luhansk region is difficult.

"Every meter of the liberated Luhansk region is very difficult because the Russian troops had time to mine everything there, to bring much personnel. I can say from talking to some fighters, they say that sometimes it is even morally difficult, because they (the Ukrainian Armed Forces - ed.) kill them (the Russian soldiers - ed.) by the dozens, and they (the Russian soldiers - ed.) still come in new waves. No one counts those freshly mobilized or convicts at all," Haidai said.

The head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration also said that in recent weeks very heavy fighting has been going on in the area of Bilohorivka. Russian forces have been shelling Ukrainian troops from artillery and aviation, trying to push through the defense.

"This bridgehead is very important for the occupiers and they came close. Now (the Ukrainian Armed Forces - ed.) have completely stabilized the situation, repelled all attacks and consolidated their positions," Haidai said.

The head of the Luhansk region also added that although the Luhansk direction is as difficult as Donetsk, Bakhmut has a symbolic meaning for the Russian forces and the situation in the Donetsk region Haidai called "just hell."
