AFU eliminate and injure up to 260 Russian soldiers in Zaporizhzhia, Russia defends in 3 directions - AFU General Staff

Russian troops are defending in Novopavlivka, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions. Russia lost ammunition depots, equipment and up to 260 soldiers killed and injured in Zaporizhzhia region.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the morning report on January 4.

The Russian army continues to suffer losses. In particular, its deterrence was confirmed on January 2 near the settlements of Tokmak, Melitopol, Berdiansk, Polohy and Vasylivka, Zaporizhzhia region.

Two Russian ammunition depots, up to 10 units of military equipment of various types were destroyed there, 2 deployment points were hit, up to 260 servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces were eliminated or injured.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine strike 17 Russian personnel concentrations and repelled attacks near 10 towns and villages

During the day, on January 3, the aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched 12 strikes on Russian personnel concentrations and a strike on the position of an anti-aircraft missile system.

In turn, Ukrainian missile and artillery men struck 2 Russian control points, 5 concentrations of manpower and military equipment, an ammunition depot and a UAV control point.

Over the past day, the units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russian attacks near 2 settlements of the Luhansk region and 8 of the Donetsk region.

Russian army launches 7 missile and 18 airstrikes at Ukraine over the last day

Over the past day, Russian forces launched 7 missile strikes, 18 airstrikes, and more than 85 MLRS multiple attacks at the civilian infrastructure of Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson. There are casualties among civilians.

The threat of enemy air and missile strikes at Ukraine remains.

Russian troops are focused on the offensive in the Bakhmut direction; in Vuhledar, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions they are on the defensive

Russian troops are focusing their efforts on conducting offensive actions in the Bakhmut sector and are trying to improve the tactical position of their troops in the Kupyansk, Lyman and Avdiivka directions. In the Vuhledar, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions the Russian army is defending.

In other directions the situation is as follows:

On the border with Belarus and Russia, the situation is without significant changes, Russia maintains military presence in the border areas, no signs of formation of its offensive groups were detected. 

The enemy shelled 3 settlements of the Chernihiv region; 2 of the Sumy region and 8 of the Kharkiv region.

In Kupyansk and Lyman directions, more than 15 settlements of Luhansk and Kharkiv  were affected by Russian fire. 

In the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions of the Donetsk region, Russian troops shelled more than 25 settlements. 

In the Vuhledar direction, 6 settlements of the Donetsk region were hit by fire.

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, more than 25 settlements were affected. Russian troops repeatedly shelled civilian infrastructure of cities and towns along the right bank of the Dnipro River. Civilian infrastructure of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson was hit.
