AFU destroy 4 Shahed UAVs, launch 14 airstrikes, including 3 on Russian SAMs – General Staff

On May 23, Ukraine's Armed Forces destroyed 4 Shahed drones and launched 14 airstrikes on the invading Russian troops' military positions, 3 of which targeted enemy air defense systems

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this. 

In turn, missile and artillery units hit 3 control points, 4 weapons and military equipment concentration areas, 1 munitions depot, 2 artillery units at firing positions, as well as 3 other important enemy targets.

“Occupying Russian forces turned the Bilovodsk district hospital into a military hospital. Currently, the medical facility is overcrowded with Russian soldiers with injuries of varying severity,” the report says. 

Russia launched 25 airstrikes, over 20 MLRS attacks against Ukraine

Invading Russian forces are attacking in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions. In total, 16 combat engagements took place in the above-mentioned areas over the last day, with Bakhmut and Marinka remaining in the epicenter of fighting.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian Federation continued shelling the entire border line with mortars and artillery: 2 settlements in the Chernihiv region, 4 more in the Sumy region, as well as 15 towns and villages in the Kharkiv region were attacked.

The spokesman for the Eastern Grouping of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Serhiy Cherevatyi, unveiled the average daily losses of Russian troops in the Bakhmut area. There are more than 40,000 Russian troops involved in the fighting there.
