Development engineer Vitalii Bryzhalov says that it is economically unfeasible for Russians to fire missiles at drones, which cost hundreds of times more than the drones themselves

The development engineer commented on the readiness of Russian air defenses to deal with Ukrainian drones.

“The Russians are not standing still either, they are adapting, studying, and paying a lot of attention to the development of new radar systems, not only electronic warfare but also electronic intelligence. That is, even if a drone is not visible on radar, it can be heard by other means. But the territories are large, and when a small drone flies low, no electronic warfare or radar can see it from 10 kilometers away. Of course, the Russians were also preparing to fight against airplanes, which cost millions of dollars, so it is economically feasible to shoot them down with missiles costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. But to use missiles that cost USD 100,000 or USD 300,000 against drones that cost USD 1,000 or USD 2,000 is economically exhausting for the enemy,” the development engineer said.

Vitalii Bryzhalov added that Russia is running out of missiles very quickly, and under sanctions it is difficult for them to produce them in large quantities.

“The simultaneous operation of 50 of our drones can paralyze any Russian air defense system, because drones can simulate targets or create interference, as well as detect targets, and attack drones can destroy the designated locations. It can be very interesting when there are a lot of drones, so we are concentrating on mass production of attack drones that can work with any targets, having the appropriate training and system on board. The drones can be diverse, meaning that the carrier itself is universal, so you can install a camera with large optics on it, or you can just navigate by instruments,” Bryzhalov explained.
