About 13,000 Belarusians agree to fight in Ukraine on Russian side - Ukrainian General Staff
About 13,000 former and current military Belarussian personnel have agreed to participate in the war against Ukraine, on the Russian army’s side
This was announced by the Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksiy Gromov, during a briefing.
"According to preliminary data, up to 13,000 people from among the active and former military units of the Belarusian special operations forces and OMON have signed a consent to war against our country. The main motive is material and financial. There is no ideological component in the actions of the occupying forces. No one believes in "denazification", "protection of the rights of the Russian-speaking population". Fear and money are the main factors of the Russian military presence, he said.
According to Gromov, six battalions of the Belarussian Armed Forces have been deployed near the state border of Ukraine.
