About 10,000-15,000 Belarusians are ready to fight against Ukraine - General Staff
Ukraine's General Staff has identified about 10,000-15,000 Belarusians who are ready to fight against Ukrainian defenders
Brigadier General Oleksii Hromov, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Department of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff, said this during a briefing at the Military Media Center.
“About 10,000-15,000 personnel of the security forces of the Republic of Belarus are ready to take part in the so-called 'special military operation' of the Russian Federation. First of all, because of the attractiveness of the high monetary support,” Hromov said.
The Deputy Chief of the General Staff emphasized that the readiness of Belarusians to conduct independent military actions is assessed as low, and the citizens of Belarus themselves have a low moral and psychological level, which is confirmed by the refusal of the majority of personnel to participate in the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine.
In addition, more than 9,000 Russian soldiers are on the territory of Belarus.
“As part of the deployment of the joint regional group of troops of the so-called allied state, units of the Russian Armed Forces with a total number of more than 9,000 people and more than 250 units of weapons and military equipment from the 2nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 1st Tank Army of the Western military continue to be stationed on the territory of Belarus. They are mainly concentrated in the areas of the Obuz-Lesnovsky, Lepelsky, Losvido, and Osipovichi training grounds,” Hromov added.
