The Belarusian Defense Ministry has announced that, as part of the deployment of a joint group of troops from the Russian Federation, 9,000 Russian troops will be transferred to the country.

Valeriy Revenko, the head of the international military cooperation department, the assistant minister of defense of Belarus, reports on Twitter.

According to him, Russian military will arrive in Belarus as part of the deployment of a group of troops joint with Russian Federation.

"The first echelons of Russian servicemen have begun to arrive in Belarus. The redeployment will take several days. The total number will be slightly less than 9,000 people" - Revenko wrote.

He promised to provide more detailed information on October 17.
