74 battles reported since the start of the day, nearly half in the Pokrovsk direction

Since the beginning of March 23, 74 combat clashes have occurred on the Russian-Ukrainian front. Ukrainian Forces repelled 29 Russian attacks in the Pokrovsk direction, and 6 battles are still ongoing

Since the beginning of March 23, 74 combat clashes have occurred on the Russian-Ukrainian front. The Defense Forces repelled 29 enemy attacks in the Pokrovsk direction, and 6 battles are still ongoing.

This was reported in the daily briefing from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 16:00.

Russia shelling of Ukraine  

Border settlements continue to suffer from cynical shelling from Russian territory, including Mykhailivske, Stepok, Vyshenky, Bila Beriza, Yastrubshchyna, Kucheryvka, Luhivka, Oleksandrivka, and Porozok in Sumy region. Airstrikes hit Petryshivka, Krasnopillya, Okip, Turya, Uhroidy, Novodmytrivka, and Prokhody.

Situation on key frontlines  

- Kupiansk direction: Russia attempted to advance near Zahryzove, but was successfully stopped by Ukrainian defenders.  

- Lyman direction: Russian forces launched 6 attacks near Yampolivka and towards Novo, with 5 battles still ongoing.  

- Siversk direction: Since the start of the day, there have been four assaults on our defenders' positions near Bilohorivka, towards Ivano-Daryivka and Verkhniokamianske, with 2 battles continuing.  

- Kramatorsk direction: Fighting continues near Orikhovo-Vasylivka.  

- Toretsk direction: Russia launched 8 attacks today near Dylivka and Toretsk, with 4 battles currently ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian army made 35 attempts to push back our defenders from their positions near the settlements of Panteleimonivka, Vodyane Druhe, Yelizavetivka, Lysivka, Andriivka, Kotlyne, Uspenivka, and Bohdanivka. The Defense Forces are holding back the Russian advance and have repelled 29 attacks, with 6 battles still ongoing. 

In the Novopavlivsk direction, the Russians attacked 6 times near the settlements of Kostyantynopil and Rozliv, with one battle still ongoing.

In the Hulyaipole direction, Russian forces was repelled three times while trying to advance near Novopillia and Novosilka. Uncontrolled rockets attacked the areas around the settlements of Hulyaipole, Novodaryivka, Novosilka, and Zaliznychne.

In the Orikhiv direction, the settlement of Mala Tokmachka was hit by an airstrike.

In the Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk directions, Russia did not conduct active offensive operations.

In the operational zone in the Kursk region, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled four attacks by Russian invaders during the day, with five more battles ongoing. Russian forces carried out five airstrikes, dropping five KABs, and conducted more than 181 shellings, including five with multiple rocket launcher systems.

In other areas of the front, the situation has not changed significantly.

  • Reviewing the front-line situation and reports from Ukraine’s General Staff, Ivan Tymochko, head of the Reservists Council, said Russia is once again stepping up offensive operations.
