70% of Russians ready to support Putin's decision to end war against Ukraine – sociologists
According to an opinion poll, 70% of Russians are ready to support the end of the war if the leader of the terrorist country Vladimir Putin decides so
According to the Russian online media Meduza, the poll was conducted by the Levada Center.
The respondents were divided into two equal groups. The first was asked: "If this week Vladimir Putin decided to end the military conflict with Ukraine, would you support or oppose this decision?"
Answers:
- 37% – would definitely support it
- 33% – would rather support
- 12% – definitely would not support
- 9% – rather would not support
- 9% – difficult to answer
The second group of respondents was asked whether they were ready to end the war if Ukraine returned the temporarily occupied territories.
Answers:
- 16% – would definitely support
- 18% – would rather support
- 19% – would rather not support
- 38% – definitely would not support
- 10% – find it difficult to answer
Russians were also asked whether peace talks should be initiated. The majority of respondents said they were in favor of negotiations.
Three-quarters of respondents said they supported "the actions of the Russian armed forces in Ukraine". Among respondents in the 18-24 age group, 62% said this, and 82% of those aged 55 and over.
