The ambassador said that in November, Ukraine received 329 permits from Egypt and Israel to evacuate Ukrainians, and 259 people were evacuated, 172 of whom are already in Ukraine. Other evacuated citizens decided to stay in Egypt or left for Europe on their own.
"Since the cessation of hostilities and the successful completion of the first stage of evacuation, we have received an additional 146 applications from citizens. This is somewhat surprising, because the vast majority of these citizens had permission to leave, but did not use it for various reasons," said Korniichuk.
According to the ambassador, 92 Ukrainians have reiterated their desire to evacuate, while 54 expressed their desire for the first time. More than 110 of them are women and children.
The embassy is currently working to obtain a new permit for the evacuation of these people to Egypt as soon as possible, and the documents are currently being approved.
According to Korniichuk, the Ukrainian embassies in Israel, Egypt, and Moldova are involved in the evacuation of citizens. The latter is helping to transport Ukrainians to Ukraine.
