11th sanctions package is already affecting some EU countries' interests - political expert Vihirinskyi
The 11th package of anti-Russian sanctions is already affecting the economic interests of some EU countries. The slowdown is due to the fact that the pragmatic interest of the countries takes priority over the value element
This was stated by political expert Andrii Vihirinskyi on Espreso TV.
"The 11th package of anti-Russian sanctions is already affecting the economic interests of some EU countries. Investigations and information on how Russia can circumvent the sanctions are constantly appearing. Information is being made public that the sanctions are no longer as effective as they were intended to be, and that a year later they are no longer hindering Russia's ability to produce certain elements of the military-industrial complex," he said.
The expert added that the expectation from the sanctions was that technological hunger would make it impossible to carry out such production.
"There is a moment when we need to react and limit the possibilities of circumventing sanctions - to stop parallel imports, smuggling and other things whose mechanisms are known. This will then affect the intermediary countries - Turkey, the UAE, the Saudis, Central Asian countries, Kazakhstan. Countries such as Greece, Bulgaria, and Hungary, which also depend on voting for sanctions packages, support the restrictions that are in place. They no longer want to go further against their interests. The slowdown is due to the fact that the country's pragmatic interest prevails over the value element," Vihirinskyi summarized.
