Occupying Russian army keeps forcing Ukrainians to take Russian passports in Donetsk region

Ukrainian citizens are forced to take Russian passports in the temporarily occupied territories.

In order to increase moral pressure on the residents of the temporarily occupied Horlivka, Donetsk region, and to force them to take Russian citizenship, the occupying Russian forces sent out orders to local enterprises of all forms of ownership to provide the "Ministry of State Security of the DPR" with lists of employees who have not received a Russian passport.

The deadline for fulfilling the "order" is January 1, 2024. At the same time, the occupation administration of the village of Blahovishchenka in Zaporizhzhia region is taking measures to encourage local residents to take Russian citizenship. In particular, it offers pensioners a cash reward of 50,000 Russian rubles (about USD 500).

  • On July 28, the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted counteroffensive operations in at least 3 frontline areas and advanced near Bakhmut.
