Ukraine takes controls of Nestryha Island, Dnipro Delta
Ukrainian defenders managed to improve their situation in the Kherson region
Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, announced the information on Sunday afternoon, April 28, 2024.
"In the Kherson direction, our units managed to advance near Veletenske village and establish control over Nestryha Island," the Commander-in-Chief noted.
Velytenske is located on the right bank of the Kherson region, next to the Dnipro Delta.
The island of Nestryha, mentioned by Syrskyi, is directly part of the delta and has long remained a gray area.
As for the left-bank Krynky settlement, Syrskyi emphasized that Russian troops "still hope" to drive Ukrainian troops out of the area. However, to no avail.
