Zelenskyy reacts to WP article on “his proposal” to seize Russian border villages
Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Ukraine doesn't intend to seize Russian territory and is exclusively engaged in the de-occupation of its own land
The President of Ukraine said this at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin, Espreso.TV reports.
In this way, Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the publication of The Washington Post, which, citing secret US intelligence documents published online, wrote that Zelenskyy allegedly proposed to occupy Russian border villages and blow up the Druzhba oil pipeline to strengthen his position in future negotiations with Russia.
“As for the attacks on Russian territory, we are not attacking Russian territory, we are liberating our legitimate land. We are not interested in this. We don't have time for that, we don't have the forces and extra weapons for that. We are focused on preparing counter-offensive actions, on de-occupation, in accordance with international law, in accordance with the law, in accordance with our Constitution. It is purely ours, Ukrainian, internationally recognized territory,” Zelenskyy said.
