Zelenskyy, Erdogan, Guterres end trilateral talks in Lviv
Turkish President Recep Erdogan, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres have concluded their trilateral talks in Lviv
This is reported by CNN Turk and the Turkish portal Haberturk.
The publications write that the meeting lasted about 40 minutes.
The trilateral talks began after a bilateral meeting between Zelenskyy and Erdogan. Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the President of Turkey at 2:40 p.m. local time in the Potocki Palace.
It is expected that the trilateral talks will discuss the implementation of the agreement on opening up "grain corridors", the steps that can be taken to end the Ukrainian-Russian war through diplomatic means, as well as the situation at the Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Earlier, the mass media reported that during the talks in Lviv, Erdogan and Zelenskyy plan to discuss all aspects of Turkish-Ukrainian relations. In particular, they will talk about strengthening the mechanism of grain export from Ukraine and the diplomatic end of the war.
The NTV channel reported that during the meeting, Erdogan may offer Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy a temporary ceasefire at the front and resumption of negotiations with Russia. As a result of the ceasefire, the Russian army will be able to prepare for a new offensive: to accumulate additional resources and restore losses.
The head of the Turkish state flew to the Polish city of Rzeszow, and from there he went to Lviv by ground transport. According to Turkish media, Erdogan is accompanied on his trip to Lviv by the heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Defense, Intelligence, the Department of Defense Industry, and the Baykar Makina company.
