Zelenskyy discusses with Rutte coalition of countries ready to supply Ukraine with fighter jets

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Kyiv will work to create a coalition of countries ready to supply fighter jets, similar to the 'tank coalition'

The delivery of fighter jets was discussed during Zelenskyy's meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, who is on an official visit to Kyiv on February 17.

The President of Ukraine reminded that the Netherlands, together with its partners, Germany and Denmark, is preparing to transfer about 100 Leopard tanks to Ukraine. He thanked Rutte for his country's contribution.

“The issue of protecting the skies is important. Combat aircraft is a matter that is even more complicated than the 'coalition of tanks'. We will definitely work on this coalition, we will work on the issue of training, we have started a conversation about the issue of training, we have discussed it with Mark and it is a question for the whole world. Because this is an issue that does not depend on one state or one decision, or one society or government. This is an issue of many components,” Zelenskyy said during a joint briefing with Rutte.

According to NOS, in Kyiv Rutte visited the Wall of Remembrance for those who died for Ukraine, where he laid a wreath.

The last time the Dutch Prime Minister visited Ukraine was in July last year.
