Zelenskyy arrives in Poland to meet with Duda

The ceremony was broadcasted on Facebook by the Office of the President of Ukraine.

The meeting was held with military honors and an orchestra at the presidential palace: Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata greeted the couple Volodymyr and Olena Zelenskyy.

The press service of Andrzej Duda's office tweeted that the president had presented Volodymyr Zelenskyy with Poland's highest honor, the Order of the White Eagle.

This was announced by Marcin Przydacz of the President Andrzej Duda’s Office.

"President Zelensky has already crossed the state border, he is on the territory of Poland," Przydacz said on Wednesday morning.

It is noted that after the guests are officially welcomed by Polish President Andrzej Duda and his wife, the leaders of the two countries will hold talks in the presidential palace. After that, the delegations' negotiations will take place.

According to the official quoted by PAP, the talks will cover "the entire spectrum of Polish-Ukrainian relations, starting with security policy." According to him, they plan to raise historical issues as well.

In turn, Zelenskyy’s press secretary Serhiy Nikiforov also confirmed the visit.

"The President of Ukraine and the First Lady have started an official visit to Poland. Volodymyr Zelenskyy's agenda includes negotiations with President Andrzej Duda, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, and signing of bilateral documents," he wrote.

Zelenskyy will also meet with representatives of Polish business within the framework of the Ukrainian-Polish business forum, with marshals of the Sejm and Senate, volunteers and rescuers, as well as with mayors of cities bordering Ukraine.

Andrzej Duda and Volodymyr Zelenskyy will make a joint address at 18:00. According to Nikiforov, in the evening Volodymyr Zelenskyy will address the Poles and Ukrainians living in Poland.

Duda’s Office assured that all services are properly prepared for the organization of such a visit and it should be safe.

This is the first visit of President Zelenskyy to Warsaw which was announced in advance during the full-scale war.
