Zelenskyy and Biden discuss Ukrainian air defense and restoring energy industry

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with US President Joe Biden the supply of more weapons and energy assistance to Ukraine.

Zelenskyy shared the information in an evening address.

"We also appreciate the help of the US in restoring Ukraine's energy system. I hope for further deepening of cooperation in this area. I pointed out the importance of establishing an effective air defense for Ukraine," the president said.

Zelenskyy emphasized that everything possible should be done to protect the civilian population of Ukraine and its critical infrastructure during the winter.

"Thank you for confirming your willingness  to support Ukraine as long as necessary, as well as for the clear and consistent commitment of the United States to the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state within internationally recognized borders," Zelenskyy added.

Meanwhile, according to Zelenskyy, the US approves the peace formula proposed by Ukraine, and the G7 online summit may bring good news.

The last discussion between the Ukrainian and American presidents took place on October 4.  Then they discussed sanctions against Russia and the war's course.

Earlier, the president reminded that he already held separate negotiations with French President Emmanuel Macron and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the same day. One of the main discussion topics was the Ukrainian "peace formula" and the expansion of the "grain initiative".
