Zaluzhnyi speaks to US General Milley about Ukraine’s war goals
Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, emphasized the need to liberate the entire territory of Ukraine in a conversation with General Mark Milley, US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Zaluzhnyi shared the phone call details on Telegram.
“Our objective is to liberate the whole Ukrainian land from the Russian occupation. We will not stop on this way under any circumstances. Ukrainian soldiers will accept no negotiations, agreements or compromise solutions. The only term for negotiation: Russia must leave all the captured territories,” Zaluzhnyi stated.
He also had thanked for everything done for Ukraine by the American people and General Milley personally, and for the high esteem of the Armed Forces of Ukraine actions.
The Commander-in-Chief also informed his American colleague about the situation at the frontline.
“The situation on the frontline is stable and controlled. We are tracking attentively the enemy’s activities on the border with the republic of Belarus and building a reliable shield for the protection of Ukraine in the North. Despite tremendous resistance from occupational troops, Defence Forces continue the offensive in Kharkiv direction.
Enemy actively attacks Bilohorivka-Soledar-Bakhmut-Mayorsk and Avdiivka-Opytne-Vodiane-Pisky-Mariinka-Pavlivka lines but has no success. We are holding defence due to the resilience of our forward units and combat-capable reserves.
In Kherson direction, we are conducting stabilizing activities and reinforcing defence lines,” his brief reads.
