According to Zelenskyy, Kartavtsev lost his leg at the start of the full-scale invasion while rescuing his comrades. Despite his injury, he turned to sports, and golf became a key part of his recovery and helped him regain physical and psychological balance.
The Ukrainian President also showed a video where Kostyantyn Kartavtsev appealed to the U.S. President to help Ukraine end the war with a just and lasting peace.
Donald Trump gratefully accepted the gift. In return, he recorded a video thanking the Ukrainian soldier for the club. As a gesture of respect and friendship, the U.S. President also gave Zelenskyy the symbolic keys to the White House.
