Ukraine signs security agreements with Sweden, Iceland, Norway
On May 31, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed agreements on security cooperation with prime ministers of Sweden, Iceland, and Norway
The President's Office website announces the signing of a security agreement with Norway.
It is noted that Norway will provide Ukraine with about €1.2 billion in military aid this year.
“In total, Norway has allocated almost EUR 6.4 billion for 2023-2027 in the Nansen long-term program to support Ukraine. Norway's support for Ukraine will continue for the entire duration of the agreement,” the statement says.
Oslo will also help Kyiv develop the capabilities of combat aircraft, in particular, the state is ready to transfer F-16 fighters to Ukraine.
The President's Office notes that Norway will also contribute to the development of maritime capabilities in the Black and Azov Seas, continue to provide NASAMS systems and equipment, and train specialists.
At the same time, the signatories to the agreement will deepen defense and industrial cooperation.

It is noted that Iceland has pledged to provide comprehensive and long-term economic, humanitarian and defense support to Ukraine, as well as to facilitate its future membership in the EU and NATO.
During 2024-2028, Iceland will annually allocate at least ISK 4 billion (almost USD 30 million). The country is also ready to finance, purchase and supply defense materials and equipment, as well as cooperate with Ukraine to develop its defense industry.
At the same time, Iceland pledges to continue transporting military supplies and equipment from NATO allies to Ukraine by chartered cargo planes.
According to the President's Office, certain sections of the agreement relate to support for the Ukrainian Peace Formula, sanctions against Russia, compensation for damages, and bringing the aggressor to justice. The agreement also addresses the strengthening of social and civilian infrastructure, particularly in the areas of education and energy security.

According to the agreement, Sweden will provide Ukraine with military assistance worth SEK 75 billion (about EUR 6.5 billion) in 2024-2026. The amount of aid will increase over the ten-year term of the document.
In return, Sweden will provide aviation and air defense, armored vehicles, artillery, maritime security, demining assistance, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Sweden will also support the development of Ukraine's modern defense industry potential and develop bilateral cooperation on localization, repair, maintenance and production of Swedish defense products in Ukraine.
So far, 13 countries have signed the security agreement with Ukraine: the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Denmark, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Finland, Latvia, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, and Sweden.
Zelenskyy arrives at the third Ukraine-North Europe summit
Volodymyr Zelenskyy named the key priorities for Ukraine as air defense systems, joint defense production, and global work to force Russia to peace.
In Stockholm, the President plans to meet with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, and Icelandic Prime Minister Bjarni Benediktsson.
A meeting with King Carl XVI of Sweden is scheduled. He will also talk to representatives of defense companies.
“Today, Ukraine will sign three security agreements at once, which will fix the projected defense and other comprehensive support for a long period,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
