White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt said this at a briefing.
She was asked what the U.S. contribution to Ukraine’s security guarantees could be. Levitt replied that the U.S. could provide air support or take part in "coordination" of Ukrainian forces’ actions. She likely meant intelligence sharing.
The president has made it clear that U.S. troops will not be sent to Ukraine, but the U.S. can certainly help with coordination and possibly provide other forms of security guarantees to the European allies, the spokeswoman said.
- Earlier, it was reported that the United States and European leaders are actively working on a comprehensive package of security guarantees for Ukraine.
