UK intelligence analyzes Russia’s Army-2024 military-technical forum
The Army-2024 International Military and Technical Forum was held in Moscow. It was attended by Russian leader Vladimir Putin, as well as delegations from Iran, the DPRK, and Belarus
The UK Defense Ministry reports.
Earlier this week, Moscow hosted the annual Army-2024 International Military and Technical Forum. The event usually attracts Russian and foreign defense manufacturers. However, international attendance has been down since Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
According to intelligence, in previous years this event was held in conjunction with the Russian Army International Games, which were canceled this year.
The opening of the forum was attended by Vladimir Putin and Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov. In his address, Belousov said that the war in Ukraine is “an armed conflict between Russia and the collective West.”
The event was also attended by numerous delegations, including those from Belarus, Iran, and North Korea.
“Russia's arms producers are under pressure to increase their output to sustain the war in Ukraine. Some foreign sales contracts to key international partners have been delayed because of the imperative to supply Russian forces,” the intelligence writes.
- Russian media reported that the annual Army International Games will not take place in 2024. Russia probably made this decision to avoid criticism.
