“Turkey, which supports Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence, also consistently advocates on every platform for the return of occupied territories, including Crimea, as mandated by international law,” the adviser said.
Nariman Dzhelyal, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, briefed the adviser on the ongoing situation in the temporarily occupied Crimea. He highlighted the persecution and harassment of Crimean Tatars, as well as the widespread human rights violations and crimes committed by Russia on the peninsula.
“Raids and detentions occur constantly. Those detained are sentenced to long prison terms under inhumane conditions,” Dzhelyal said.
- On September 24, Erdogan said before the UN General Assembly in New York that Turkey would increase its support for efforts to end Russia's war against Ukraine through diplomacy and dialogue based on Ukraine's territorial integrity.
