Ukraine's foreign minister arrives in South Africa
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has arrived in South Africa, set for a series of high-level meetings in Johannesburg and Pretoria with South African officials
This was confirmed by a statement from Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“During the visit, Sybiha will meet with South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly, and other key figures. He’ll also engage with the expert community, leading think tanks, faculty at the University of Pretoria, heads of South African business associations, and members of the Ukrainian community,” the ministry stated.
It’s noted that Sybiha’s discussions will focus on strengthening political dialogue and cooperation between Ukraine and South Africa, promoting the Peace Formula as the path to comprehensive, just, and lasting peace, coordinating efforts ahead of South Africa’s 2025 chairmanship of the G20, and aligning positions before a series of key international events.
“The visit to South Africa wraps up the minister’s diplomatic tour across Arab and African nations, with recent stops in Oman, Angola, and Egypt,” added the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Sybiha will visit four countries in the Arab and African regions to advocate for the Peace Formula, build political connections, consolidate humanitarian and energy support for Ukraine, and enhance trade and economic partnerships.
- Earlier, Sybiha also visited Turkey for high-level discussions on core cooperation issues.
