"Positive news": Zelenskyy on talks about peacekeeping troops in Ukraine
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced progress in discussions about deploying peacekeeping troops in Ukraine. He also addressed this topic with French President Emmanuel Macron during a meeting in Brussels

“We discussed Emmanuel’s earlier ideas about peacekeepers. We support strengthening Ukraine, and you understand that. The details are what we’re focusing on now,” Zelenskyy said.
However, the Ukrainian president admitted this remains a “challenging process.”
“I’m encouraged that Emmanuel has already spoken to some leaders. I won’t share specifics yet because we’re still working on it. But I can already see some positive attitudes from certain people,” Zelenskyy added.
- On Wednesday, December 18, President Zelenskyy arrived in Brussels. Over two days, he plans to meet with various European partners and attend a European Council meeting.
- Following his meeting with Macron, Zelenskyy held talks with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. Before their negotiations, both leaders gave brief statements to the press.
- After his meeting with Macron, Zelenskyy confirmed that France had prepared one brigade for the Ukrainian army and agreed to continue such cooperation.
