Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said this during a meeting with soldiers and the command of the 19th Lublin Mechanized Brigade, PAP reports.
He noted that this year Poland will allocate funds for the Podlasie military task force “more than ever.”
"This year we will allocate about 850 million zlotys, which is the most than ever, to the Podlasie Military Border Guard Task Force. We are investing more and more, we will spend more and more money, thanks to our taxpayers, whom I thank very much, so that this group can function and fulfill its missions," said Kosiniak-Kamysz.
At the same time, the head of the Polish defense ministry emphasized that border protection is also being strengthened.
"This is not just a perimeter, but as we have just talked to the generals, it is the presence of soldiers and border guards who have to control the border. It is not enough to have digital, computerized security. There must be the presence of border guards and soldiers who support them," he explained.
Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized that his country's army is called upon to defend Poland, as well as "the integrity of the Polish state, the sovereignty of the Polish state, the inviolability of its border," in accordance with the constitution.
