The initiative, led by organizations Blue/Yellow, Laisvės TV, Stiprūs kartu, LRT, and journalist Rita Miliute, spanned four weeks, culminating in a benefit concert on February 24, marking the second anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The campaign's final amount, announced after the concert, will enable the purchase and delivery of 1,115 kits for Ukrainian soldiers, each valued at €7,500. These kits include a night vision monocular, a laser sight, and an individual anti-drone complex, enhancing the protection of Ukrainian soldiers against Russian invaders.
Manufactured in Lithuania by Brolis Semiconductors and NT Service, the equipment is a significant contribution from Lithuanian citizens, enterprises, and organizations.
Journalist Rita Miliute highlighted the impact of each kit, stating, "Each kit for a Ukrainian soldier means a saved life. These people are fighting for us."
President Gitanas Nausėda, speaking at the ceremony on February 24, emphasized the obligation to assist Ukraine, stating, "Our duty is, first of all, to help Ukraine, especially now, when perhaps one is losing optimism. We have no right to any political considerations; we must help Ukraine because today it is an absolute necessity. We must help, and this is our sacred duty."
