Israel ramps up offensive on Gaza to occupy it
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a ground operation to establish control over the city of Gaza

In recent days, Israeli forces have significantly intensified airstrikes on Gaza City and its surroundings. However, until now, ground troops had not entered this densely populated northern city, where an estimated hundreds of thousands of Palestinians remain.
According to the IDF, around 300,000 Palestinians have left Gaza City in recent weeks. Earlier this year, the city’s population had grown significantly due to internally displaced persons, reaching about one million.
The Israel Defense Forces have urged civilians to evacuate, but many have stayed, fearing that other areas of the Gaza Strip are not safer.
On the evening of Monday, September 15, Israeli airstrikes on Gaza City intensified sharply. Afterward, Palestinian media reported the appearance of IDF tanks on the city’s streets.
