Iran reveals new kamikaze drone, similar to Lancet
The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claims to have produced a new kamikaze drone similar in structure to Russia's Lancet drone
The Iranian semi-official news agency Tasnim reported the information.
Though the name of the new development has not yet been disclosed, it is noted that it is classified as a munition.
In addition, the Iranian drone resembles the Russian-made ZALA Lancet drone. This weapon is widely used to fight ambushes. The drones are equipped with electro-optical systems and a built-in warhead.
The outlet adds that the IRGC's new drones, similar to Lancets, can fly for 30 to 60 minutes and carry a payload of 3 to 6 kg over a distance of up to 40 km.
It noted that in recent years, the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has made significant investments in ammunition development. In particular, Iran is a manufacturer of Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones, which Russian troops use in the war against Ukraine.
- On 1 April, a new flight from Iran arrived in Russia: a cargo plane containing components for the drone industry.
