Russia ramping up espionage and hybrid attacks, German counterintelligence says

MAD President Martina Rosenberg said there’s been a sharp rise in both spying and hybrid incidents.

The approach is more aggressive and more extensive, she said.

According to her, Russian intelligence services are operating like during the Cold War.

The number of incidents has nearly doubled in a year, and Russian agents are still entering Germany through third countries.

• The North Atlantic Council has issued a statement condemning Russia’s malicious cyber operations, warning that such actions pose a direct threat to the security of NATO member states and Ukraine.
