"Everyone sees that Ukraine is losing war": foreign manipulations for May 31
Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation has published a batch of anti-Ukrainian fakes and manipulations launched by Russian propaganda on May 31
This is reported by Espreso.TV.
According to the National Security and Defense Council's Center for Countering Disinformation, two manipulations appeared on May 31.
Manipulation: Writer Caitlin Johnstone wrote on her page on X: "Well, it finally happened: Biden is now letting Ukraine strike Russian territory with US-supplied weapons. Escalations in nuclear brinkmanship which would have been unthinkable a few short years ago are becoming increasingly common as Ukraine loses more and more territory and runs out of soldiers to fight.”
"Statements about nuclear escalation are part of the Kremlin's nuclear blackmail policy. Permission from Western countries to strike at the territory of the Russian Federation is primarily aimed at realizing Ukraine's right to self-defense. This applies to the neutralization of military facilities of the Russian Armed Forces, ammunition depots, personnel, etc.", the Center explained.
Manipulation: Journalist Alexander Mercouris said in an interview on The Duran YouTube channel: "Everybody sees that Ukraine is losing the war, but everybody also sees that the West's trust is now under threat, and we had a panic a few weeks ago when Macron talked about sending troops to Ukraine, which has subsided a bit, but is reviving from time to time.”
"Such statements are a common Kremlin tactic aimed at discrediting Western support and combat readiness of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. In fact, the West's support is unwavering, as regularly confirmed by the leaders of the EU and NATO countries," the Center for Countering Disinformation said in a rebuttal.
