British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to announce a new aid package for Ukraine amounting to £242 million ($309 million) at the G7 summit

The British government reported the information.
“At the Summit, the Prime Minister will announce up to £242 million in bilateral assistance to Ukraine, to support immediate humanitarian, energy and stabilisation needs, and lay the foundations for longer term economic and social recovery and reconstruction,” the statement said.
The priority for the British Prime Minister at the summit will be to work with partners to agree on how to use frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine.
In contrast, the value of assets held in G7 jurisdictions is $285 billion.
- The day before, the G7 countries agreed to allocate $50 billion to Ukraine from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets.
