Zelenskyy comments on Orban's ceasefire proposal: "I don't want trouble for Ukraine"
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the proposal by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban regarding ceasefire, stating that there is no guarantee Russia will not use it to accumulate weapons
He said this in an interview with Bloomberg.
According to him, a ceasefire cannot be discussed without a clear plan.
Zelenskyy added that Ukraine has had "hundreds of meetings" since the Minsk agreements aimed at the ceasefire, but Russia has consistently undermined them.
"Therefore, any ceasefire must occur on an internationally recognized platform in the presence of trusted countries and leaders. While opinions on how to end this war may differ, unity and mutual trust are crucial," the President noted.
Zelenskyy underscored the necessity for assurance that Russia will not use a ceasefire to bolster military equipment in occupied territories.
"This is very important. I do not want trouble for my state. We are already at war. Giving preference to Russia today is simply impossible," the President stressed.
