Axios reported the information, citing its own sources.

"Over the last 24 hours there had been indications from the Ukrainians that they wanted to discuss a 30-day ceasefire during Wednesday's meetings in London rather than Trump's peace plan framework," the statement says, quoting a U.S. official involved in the discussions.

A source also told the outlet that Kyiv views Donald Trump’s proposal as heavily biased in favor of Russia: "The proposal says very clearly what tangible gains Russia gets, but only vaguely and generally says what Ukraine is going to get."

  • On April 22, Financial Times, citing its own sources, reported that Russian leader Vladimir Putin told U.S. presidential envoy Steve Witkoff that Russia is ready to freeze the front line and abandon its claims to control over four Ukrainian regions.
  • The Telegraph reported that U.S. President Donald Trump proposed a peace deal that allows Russia to retain nearly all the territories it has seized from Ukraine. It is part of a seven-point plan to end the war, which lacks clear security guarantees for Ukraine from the United States.
