Trump slams Putin as “crazy” and criticizes Zelenskyy amid Russia’s strikes on Ukraine
U.S. President Donald Trump, responding to recent Russian strikes on Ukraine, sharply criticized Russian leader Vladimir Putin and expressed dissatisfaction with the rhetoric of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy
Sky News reported the information.
“I don't know what the hell happened to Putin. I've known him for a long time. I have always gotten along with him. But he's sending rockets into cities and killing people, and I don't like it,” Trump said.
The outlet notes the American president is “absolutely” considering imposing sanctions on Russia.
“I don't like what Putin is doing. Not even a little bit. He's killing people. And something happened to this guy, and I don't like it,” he added.
Later, on his Truth Social page, the American president expressed even harsher criticism of the Russian leader, saying he has “gone absolutely crazy.”
“I have always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him. He has gone absolutely crazy! He is needlessly killing a lot of people, and I’m not just talking about soldiers. Missiles and drones are being shot into cities in Ukraine, for no reason whatsoever. I’ve always said that he wants all of Ukraine, not just a piece of it, and maybe that’s proving to be right, but if he does, it will lead to the downfall of Russia,” he emphasized.
In addition, Trump did not overlook Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This time, the U.S. leader expressed dissatisfaction with his rhetoric.
“Likewise, President Zelenskyy is doing his country no favors by talking the way he does. Everything out of his mouth causes problems, I don’t like it, and it better stop,” he added.
Finally, Trump mentioned that “this war would never have started” if he were president.
“This is Zelenskyy’s, Putin’s, and Biden’s war, not ‘Trump’s.’ I’m only helping to put out the big and ugly fires that have been started through gross incompetence and hatred,” he concluded.
- On the evening of Sunday, May 25, the Russian occupying army launched attack drones against Ukraine. Explosions were heard in several cities and regions.
