Trump calls Russia-Ukraine war "big personality conflict"
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Washington is no longer spending money on Ukraine, and called the Russian war "a big personality conflict"
Trump said this at a briefing, reports ClashReport.
"The war between Ukraine and Russia turned out to be a big personality conflict. We are going to stop that, too... We are no longer spending any money on Ukraine," the U.S. president stated.
He continued that Europe will provide Kyiv with "significant security guarantees," and the United States "will participate in this process from a backup position."
At the same time, the U.S. president commented on a journalist's question about why, in his opinion, Russian leader Vladimir Putin is reluctant about the possibility of meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Because he doesn't like him," Trump replied.
During his visit to Kyiv on August 25, Keith Kellogg reported that diplomatic work on security guarantees for Ukraine continues and is very complex.
