Latvia's Foreign Ministry building lit up in blue and yellow to honor Ukrainian national holidays
The building of Latvia's Foreign Affairs Ministry was decorated with Ukrainian flags and illuminated in blue and yellow colors in honor of Ukraine's State Flag Day and Independence Day
Latvia's Foreign Affairs Ministry reported the information.
"Congratulating Ukraine on State Flag Day on August 23 and Independence Day on August 24, flags are flying near the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building, and the building's facade is illuminated in these colors. We wish our friends in Ukraine strength and endurance," the statement says.
The head of the ministry, Baiba Braže, shared a photo of the building with Ukrainian flags and blue-yellow lighting on her social media page on X.
"To honour Ukraine’s Flag day today and Independence Day tomorrow, Latvia’s Foreign Ministry is lit in Ukrainian colours. #StandWithUkraine," she wrote.
On Saturday, August 23, in the city of Bucha, which experienced the horrors of occupation at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the blue and yellow flag was solemnly raised in honor of State Flag Day.
