IMF launches mission for sixth review of Ukraine cooperation program - Ukrainian officials
On Monday, November 11, the International Monetary Fund mission began the sixth review of the cooperation program with Ukraine
Yaroslav Zheleznyak, the First Deputy Chairman of Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada Committee on Taxation and Customs Policy and Member of Parliament, reported the information.
"Today, the IMF mission begins its work to prepare for the sixth review of our program," the MP noted.
According to him, Ukraine has already fulfilled most of the program's conditions, many of which were completed ahead of schedule.
However, the issue of adopting new tax legislation remains unresolved. The bill, which was supposed to be signed by the president in September, has been waiting for 28 days.
"And it will be interesting to see how our government will explain that the tax law has not been signed for 28 days... which they promised to our partners back in September," Zheleznyak emphasized.
- On October 18, Ukraine's PM Shmyhal announced that the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund approved the fifth review of the EFF program, which will allow Ukraine to receive a new tranche of about 1.1 billion dollars.
- On October 23, the funds were already transferred to Ukraine's budget.
