Hungarian PM Orbán accuses Zelenskyy of “harassment” over drone incident
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of "harassment" amid tensions following the incident with Hungarian drones in Ukraine’s airspace
He made this statement on his X social media page.
"Hungary is a member of NATO and the EU. Ukraine would have collapsed long ago without the support of these two organizations. President Zelenskyy, with all due respect, stop harassing us!" Orbán wrote.
Background
On Friday, September 26, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that drones had violated Ukraine’s airspace, likely UAVs from Hungary.
It is not ruled out that Russia may be attempting, through Hungary, to locate key sites in the Zakarpattia region.
In response, Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, accused President Zelenskyy of “going crazy” and “seeing ghosts.”
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha released the flight path of the Hungarian reconnaissance drone over Zakarpattia airspace on Friday, September 26, 2025.
