Europe braces for unpredictable outcome of Zelenskyy-Trump meeting

According to American and European officials who spoke with CNN, no European leaders are expected to participate in Sunday's meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump.

European sources for the network also indicated that Ukrainians have been calling for leader-level negotiations between Ukraine and the U.S. for several months.

Europe expects a positive outcome from the meeting, as they consider the current dynamics of U.S.-Ukraine relations to be productive, but they acknowledge that the result of any meeting with Trump is unpredictable.

“There is no low-risk scenario with Trump,” one NATO official told CNN.

American sources for the network expressed hope that the Trump-Zelenskyy meeting will be productive following a week of intensive efforts by American and Ukrainian negotiators.
