Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this.

He explained that this means Ukrainian road carriers will no longer need special permits.

"This is the fourth extension of the Agreement, which demonstrates its effectiveness and efficiency. Ukrainian exports by road to the EU have increased by 42%, and imports by road to Ukraine have increased by 37%," said Denys Shmyhal.

The Ukrainian prime minister added that the transport visa-free agreement is part of Ukraine's sectoral integration into Europe and a prerequisite for EU membership.

  • On September 16, 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved the agreement with the EU on the transport visa-free regime.
  • On March 16, 2023, the agreement was extended, which eliminates the need for Ukrainian carriers to obtain the relevant permits for bilateral and transit transportation to EU countries.
  • In June 2024, Ukraine and the EU extended the transport visa-free agreement for one year.
