Russia can gather troops within few weeks to attack Chernihiv region

This was stated by the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, in response to a question from a journalist from Suspilne.

According to Chaus, Russian troops are indeed capable of mobilizing in a short period of time. 

"Whether they will do it or not depends on how hard we work in terms of building up our fortifications. They see everything, they fly where they can, we do not rule it out. They understand the situation. The fortifications of 2023 compared to the fortifications of 2022 are a completely different level. We will continue to strengthen this aspect. The more we do this, the less likely it is that Russian enemy will re-enter the territory of Chernihiv region," said Vyacheslav Chaus.

The Chernihiv Regional Military Administration estimates that Russia is capable of forming a sufficient contingent for a repeat offensive within a week or three.

• On December 30, media reported that the overpass over the railway line near Nizhyn in Chernihiv region, which was destroyed by the Russian army during the occupation of the region, had been repaired and opened to traffic.
