Why Russian Shaheds went “unnoticed” in Romania

Besides offering asylum and crucial support to Ukrainian refugees, Romania, as a Black Sea and Danube country, plays a vital economic and logistical role for Ukraine.

Romania is a dependable partner for Ukraine. It may not be anti-Russia per se, but it's certainly not pro-Russia due to its anti-imperial stance.

The history of Romania's formation as a nation has parallels with Ukraine's own history.

As a member of the EU and NATO, Romania's responses to Russian security challenges are somewhat constrained by its partners. This explains the limited reaction to Russian drone strikes on Romanian territory.

This reflects the broader Western strategy of dealing with Russia since 2014 – a game of deception: "They are not there." In this case, it means “Russian Shaheds are not there…”
