West wants Ukraine to win, but does not support Russia's defeat - Ukraine’s diplomat Ohryzko
Diplomat Volodymyr Ohryzko believes that there are certain political elites in the West who are trying to prevent Russia's defeat in the war against Ukraine
He expressed this opinion on the Espreso TV channel.
"The formula of Western politicians is very simple: Ukraine's victory and not Russia's defeat. This is cynicism in its highest form, but it is a fact. Even in President Biden's administration, there are people who have been engaged in this cynicism since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. These are Mr. Sullivan and his colleague, CIA Director Burns. Both are "experts" on the Russian Federation who still cannot understand that this country cannot be made democratic. This affects US policy as well. Fortunately for us, there are people there, including Blinken and Defense Secretary Austin, who clearly understand what needs to be done in the national interest of the United States," explained Ohryzko.
The diplomat added that there are certain groups of politicians in the West who are trying to find ways to reconcile with Russia.
"This is just the top of two groups that are growing downward with all sorts of assistants and advisors. Unfortunately, this is the reality of our time. The same applies to Germany. There are also leaders of certain coalition parties there who believe that we should make peace with Russia. Yes, indeed, Chancellor Scholz is now demonstrating leadership qualities, but from time to time he hides behind the United States," he added.
