Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Elbridge Colby approved two deliveries worth $500 million under the mechanism called the Priority Ukraine Requirements List, known as PURL.
This is the first use of a new mechanism developed by the U.S. and allies to supply Ukraine with weapons from U.S. stocks using funds from NATO countries.
For reference: PURL is a new system created by the U.S. and NATO to provide Ukraine with weapons. Under this mechanism, Ukraine prepares a list of priority needs, including the arms most urgently required at the front. NATO allies then purchase American weapons or donate from their own stockpiles.
