Peklo missile-drone: Ukraine’s game-changer in fight against Russia
The Ukrainian defense industry has unveiled a missile weapon prototype that can be scaled up for production
Ukrainian Colonel Vladyslav Selezniov said this on Espreso TV.
"The warhead of the Peklo missile-drone is not very large. According to indirect data, its warhead may weigh up to 40 kg. However, with a speed of 700 km/h and a range of 700 km, these figures should terrify the Russians. If we can scale up its production, this relatively small missile-drone, about 2 meters in length, can create true hell for Russian forces and equipment," he said.
According to him, a single missile of this kind would be enough to turn a modern Russian army aircraft within range into a pile of burned scrap metal. Perhaps this is why the Russians have hurriedly begun constructing protective structures at their airfields to safeguard their aircraft and other valuable equipment and weapons from the impact of Ukrainian missiles.
"This is great news. However, the key challenge remains scaling up production, as missile-drone attacks need to be large-scale. Over the past 20 years, Russia has built a powerful electronic warfare network, as well as a robust air and missile defense system. The only effective way to counter this system is through large-scale launches of missiles and drones. For this, we need high production volumes," he added.
- On December 6, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Defense Forces had received several dozen Peklo missile-drones, which the Ukrainian manufacturer had created in record time - in a year.
