Denmark will transfer all its artillery stock to Ukraine, declares Prime Minister Frederiksen
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has announced that Denmark will provide all its artillery to Ukraine. During the Munich Security Conference on February 17, Frederiksen urged other European nations to follow suit, emphasizing the immediate need for weapons, ammunition, and anti-aircraft defense systems in Ukraine
Ukrinform reported the information.
Frederiksen expressed concern that the urgency of supplying necessary weapons to Ukraine was not adequately recognized during the Munich discussions.
According to her, in Europe, leaders often cite production challenges as a barrier to increased supplies. They are opening new defense enterprises for the future.
“However, Ukraine is urgently requesting ammunition and artillery now. Denmark has decided to transfer all our artillery to Ukraine. There is military equipment available in Europe; it's not just about production. Weapons, ammunition, and air defense systems are sitting idle. They must be handed over to Ukraine," stressed Frederiksen.
She also underlined that, regardless of the ongoing situation in the US, Europe needs to take responsibility for its own security.
"We have to do more," Frederiksen concluded.
